Mississippi is the most recent state to introduce a lottery, after a law was passed by the State Legislature in 2018 that paved the way for the creation of the Mississippi Lottery Corporation (MLC). Tickets for scratch-off games went on sale on November 25, 2019.
Magnolia State residents eagerly awaited the launch of the Mega Millions and Powerball draw games on January 30, 2020, braving the cold to line up outside retailers before dawn. In September 2020, the daily Cash 3 draw game debuted, and a five-digit game, Match 5, launched in April 2021, with draws three times per week.
Players have embraced the Lottery and ticket sales have exceeded expectations, boosting the MLC's contribution to state infrastructure and schools.
Mega Millions gives players the chance to win a rolling jackpot that starts at $20 million and keeps increasing until someone hits it. Non-US residents can also participate for their chance to win. There are nine prize tiers, including a $1 million second prize, and draws are held every Tuesday and Friday evening at 10:00 PM CT. This multi-state game has delivered amazing prizes, including the second-largest jackpot ever won by a single ticket worldwide - $1.537 billion.
Powerball offers a jackpot that starts at $20 million and continues growing with each draw until it's won. Players from all over the world can take part in the draw and win at all nine prize levels, including the top prize and $1 million second prize. Since November 2023, players can also add the Double Play option to their tickets for a chance to win a $10 million top prize. Draws are Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night at 9:59 PM CT. Its biggest jackpot was $2.04 billion, the highest lottery prize ever, which was won by a single ticket.
Cash 3 draws give MS players at shot at prizes of up to $500 twice every day, with multiple play types offering lots of ways to make a winning match. Choose your wager amount, starting at just $0.50. The Midday draw is held at 2:30 PM CT, and the Evening draw takes place at 9:30 PM CT. Try the Fireball add-on for more ways to win.
Cash 4 has draws seven days a week - Midday at 2:30 PM CT, followed by Evening at 9:30 PM CT. Players can win fixed cash prizes of up to $5,000 on a $1 bet. The game also offers 13 ways to win with a variety of play types. Tickets start at only $0.50. Add the Fireball feature for extra ways to win.
Mississippi Cash Pop is the game where only one winning number is selected in each draw. You decide how many numbers to select, so you can even play them all to guarantee yourself a win. Drawings take place twice a day, at 2:30 PM and 9:30 PM CST, and you can view the latest Numbers as soon as they are available.
Match 5 is the first MS game with a rolling jackpot. Players have the chance to win great cash prizes on this Mississppi in-state five-digit game, including a top prize that starts at $50,000 and keeps climbing from there. Tickets cost $2 and draws take place every night at about 10:00 PM CT. For $1 more, the Multiplier add-on will increase any non-jackpot prizes by up to 5 times.
